No. Unlike most rental companies in Montenegro — who typically hold €200 to €1,000 on your credit card as a security deposit — X-GO does not require any deposit. This is one of our most-valued differentiators and one of the main reasons customers choose us. You only pay for the rental itself.

For most visitors, no. Montenegro follows the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic, which means a valid driver's license in Latin or Cyrillic script is accepted directly. This covers EU/EEA, UK, US, Canada, Australia, Serbia, North Macedonia, and most other countries.

An IDP is only required if your license is in a non-Latin, non-Cyrillic script — for example, licenses issued in China, Japan, Thailand, or Arabic-script countries. In those cases, please bring the IDP alongside your original license.

Yes. Because we do not require a deposit, a debit card works perfectly for booking and payment — no credit card is required.

We accept Visa and Mastercard online, processed through the Allsecure Payment Gateway in partnership with Hipotekarna Bank AD, and secured by Mastercard ID Check and Visa Secure (3D Secure).

Paying online automatically applies a 10% discount to your booking. In-person payment is also available. All prices are in Euro (EUR) and already include VAT — no hidden fees or credit card processing charges.

Yes — and it's free. We deliver and collect vehicles at both:

• Tivat Airport (TIV)

Simply share your flight details at booking and our team will meet you on arrival. Delivery to other locations in Montenegro — hotels, villas, ferry ports — can also be arranged on request.

Optional extras that may carry a small additional cost include extended insurance, cross-border authorization, additional driver registration, or custom delivery to a location outside our standard service cities.

Our vehicles are rented on a "same-to-same" fuel policy — you receive the car with a certain fuel level and return it with the same level. This is simpler and fairer than "full-to-full" policies.

Montenegro has just one toll road — the A1 highway between Smokovac (near Podgorica) and Mateševo. The toll is paid directly at the booth in cash (EUR) or by card. Otherwise, driving in Montenegro is toll-free, and no vignette is required, unlike in Slovenia or Austria.

Tolls are not included in the rental price — they are paid directly by the driver at the booth.

Yes, cross-border travel is permitted with prior written authorization from X-GO. We commonly approve travel to:

• Croatia
• Bosnia and Herzegovina
• Albania
• Serbia
• Kosovo

Additional insurance coverage and a Green Card extension may be required depending on the destination. Please let us know at booking if you plan to cross any border so we can prepare the paperwork in advance.

Yes, rental extensions are possible subject to vehicle availability. To extend, please contact us at least 24 hours before your scheduled return by phone, WhatsApp, or email. We'll update your agreement and confirm continuous insurance coverage.

Weekly and monthly rates may apply if your extended rental crosses those thresholds — often meaning a lower daily rate than the original booking.

A reservation can be cancelled via email, WhatsApp, or phone at +382 69 727 288.

Standard cancellation policy:

• 48+ hours before pick-up: Full refund
• 12–48 hours before pick-up: Partial refund — extras only; vehicle rental fee is non-refundable
• Less than 12 hours before pick-up: No refund

Peak season (June–August) and long-term rentals:

• 7+ days before pick-up: Full refund
• 5–7 days before pick-up: Partial refund — extras only; vehicle rental fee is non-refundable
• Less than 5 days before pick-up: No refund

Refunds are processed to the original payment card. The cancellation time is the moment we receive your email, message, or call.

1. If anyone is injured, call 112 immediately (Montenegro's emergency services)

3. Obtain an official police report — required for any insurance claim in Montenegro
4. Document the scene with photos of all vehicles, damage, and road conditions
